Artist Statement

Exploring art as a universal language, I endeavor to excite the imagination, uplift emotions, and connect to divine spirit.

People and places from far away connect somewhere inside us.  Religious beliefs need not separate us.

Each piece offers an intimate dialogue.

Images can be powerful tools to remind us to ask, "Are we living consciously?"

My goal as a true Artist is to touch my imagination and ultimately reveal the soul.

Monotype Process

A monotype is a single picture created by painting on a plexiglass plate, and transferring the image to paper using an etching process. This results in painterly textures and surface effects that cannot be achieved by any other process. The etching press pushes the pigment into the fibers of the paper, embossing the image below the surface. This pulls the viewer to close inspection.

The monotype is a unique medium and each artist uses the process as an extension of their own creativity.

Monotypes have evolved from relative obscurity to a highly respected process only within the past three decades. The monotype medium has a painterly freedom of expression, a certain immediacy, spontaneity, and directness unlike any other medium.

Each image is unique, and one-of-a-kind. My possibilities for creative expression are endless!
